At the beginning, there was a vision...



Karl Zysset, an innovative bicycle mechanic, initially worked to develop clamping devices and turning lathes for do-it-yourselfers.
At the start of the 1950s, he had the idea of developing and selling a juicer and garlic press under the brand name of Zyliss. The company founder can be described as a "liberal patron from the old school", an "impulsive inventor"; and a "well-read car fanatic";.
The Zyliss company became a limited company in 1960 and a new production facility at the company's current head offices in Lyss was constructed in 1963. In 1966, Zyliss filed a lawsuit in the USA against a competitor for patent right infringements, which it won after an eight-year legal battle.
Karl Zysset had effectively protected his intellectual property. Zyliss has been part of Diethelm Keller Holding since 1985, whos individual companies operate largely independently.
